Waterborne Paint System
Waterborne Paint SystemGoff’s is the 1st collision Repair shop in the area to make the switch to the Sikkens Auto Wave WATER-borne basecoat paint system. This is a low VOC (volatile organic compounds) content coatings, designed to reduce the amount of chemicals released into the atmosphere. It’s a move that represents a win/win/win solution for the shops, our customer, and the environment.

Down Draft Spray Booths
Our shops all utilize heated down draft spray booth/ baking ovens. These booths have a dual exhaust air filtration system that runs air through polyester floor filters then through high efficiency bag filters, assuring us of virtually NO particulate matter emissions. With our new Waterborne paint system, we have added the Advance Cure Accelerated Air flow system which pushes air over the newly painted surfaces to dry even faster.

Paint Recycler and Gun Washer
Goff’s facilities use solvent recyclers to greatly reduce the amount of hazardous waste generated by our shops. These machines recycle our left over paint. They distill and re-use the contaminated solvents creating a lacquer thinner that we can use for cleaning purposes.

green09Certified in Hybrid Technology
These vehicles are very different than the traditional gas powered vehicles. One wrong move and the vehicle could be ruined or worse yet a technician could be killed. These vehicles have high voltage power lines running through them and only a trained certified technician should work on them.

EnergyOther Energy Considerations
We use set back thermostats in all our buildings. Goff’s also recycle all office paper, cardboard, and all used light bulbs. Our technicians use remote door closers to keep the heat in. All damaged parts that are taken off of the vehicles are recycled. Items like damaged headlamps, damaged bumpers, damaged fenders and doors are all sent to the appropriate recycler to be melted down or refurbished into a useable car part for future repairs.

EARS Air Recycling System
Goff’s is the 1st auto body repair facility in the U.S. to utilize a unique Australian compressed air system that recycles compressed air. The EARS closed-loop system generates more power with less energy, saving up to 1/3 the energy used to run a traditional compressor.

Recycle ALL Shop Materials
Goff’s recycles oil, anti-freeze, lacquer thinner, aluminum, and metal scrap parts. We even use automotive oil for heating. Our shops use high powered lighting to illuminate the paint finish in our spray booths. At Goff's we recycle all used fluorescent light bulbs due to the mercury content. These bulbs are taken to a special light bulb recycling facility.

Hazardous Waste Removal
All of our facilities are considered to be Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQG) by the EPA. Because we recycle and use environmentally friendly products, we are bale to maintain this standing with the EPA. The small amounts of paint waste that we do generate is hauled away to a recycling facility by a certified waste hauler.

Environmentally Responsible Repair Practices
Goff’s approach to collision repair is always to repair if possible and only replace a part if absolutely necessary. Many shops will automatically replace a plastic bumper if damaged, but Goff’s uses plastic repair techniques whenever possible. These procedures not only save cost, but they save the environment by eliminating waste. We no longer need to dispose of the parts, and we are also saving by not transporting parts unnecessarily.
